Valsir is an Italian company belonging to the Silmar Group, specialized in the production of components for thermo-hydraulics, construction and bathroom design. Valsir was founded in 1987, on the basis of a precise industrial strategy adopted by Silmar Group, leader in the plumbing and heating sector, which also owns other plants in Portugal, Poland, Russia, Romania, Ukraine, France and South Africa. Valsir is present in Italy with the production and logistics sites of Vestone and Vobarno, and today is an expanding reality that takes sustainability into account, creating environmentally friendly and recyclable items, with eco-sustainable production processes within energy-efficient properties.
In a more general program aimed at improving the energy efficiency of their plants, the customer was looking for an effective solution that would also guarantee the obtaining of energy efficiency titles (TEE) by the GSE, the Italian Energy Agency.
The Project
In February 2017, a first 1,250 A EP-X device was installed in the main cabin of the Valsir plant in Vestone, province of Brescia, where different hydro-sanitary systems and components are produced. The configuration of the electrical loads powered by this cabin consists exclusively of machinery managed by inverters, for an energy consumption of about 4,000,000 kWh and a used power of about 600 kW.
Cabin 1:
• Inverter Machinery: 100%
The following year the customer installed another 500 A EP-X device in the second cabin of the Vestone plant, which powers exclusively inverter-free machinery with a committed power of about 500 kW and an energy consumption of about 800,000 kWh.
Cabin 2:
• Non inverter Machinery: 100%
