SITO GROUP

Company: Sit Group – Italy

The Sit Group creates solutions for climate control and consumption measurement. SIT was founded in 1953 under the name of Società Italiana Tecnomeccanica “La Precisa” as it operates in precision mechanics. Today Sit is an international group with logistics HUBs and commercial offices in Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Australia.
The 8 production sites and the research site are located in Italy, in Padua, Rovigo and Macerata, as well as in the Netherlands, Romania, Mexico, China, Tunisia and Portugal. More than two thousand people work directly in the SIT Group. SIT is committed to the manufacturing of products with low environmental impact, reducing energy consumption and developing systems for a low level of air pollution.

The customer, very sensitive to the reduction of environmental impact and harmful emissions, was looking for an additional efficiency solution easy to apply on the existing production sites that guaranteed measurable energy savings and a consequential reduction in emissions.

The Project

In October 2015 was installed the first 1,600 A EP-X device at Rovigo plant, where mechanical control systems, sensors, gas meters and other precision instruments are produced. The configuration of the loads managed by this first cabin consists mainly of inverter-free machinery and air conditioning, for a used power of about 900 kW and an energy consumption of about 5,000,000 kWh:
Cabin 1 – EP1800A:
• Non-Inverter Machinery: 90%
• Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning: 8%
• Traditional lighting: 2%

Over the next 3 months were installed two further devices of 1,000 A and 1,600 A on other lines of the plant, with a used power of 450 kW and 830 kW respectively. The configuration of the loads managed by these two lines is production line:
Cabin 2 – EP1000A:
• Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning: 65%
• Non-Inverter Machinery: 34%
• Standard lighting: 1%
• Non-Inverter Machinery: 68%
Cabin 3 – EP 1600A:
• Machinery with inverter: 27%
• Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning: 3%
• Electronic lighting: 2%
