Acquired by the Legrand Group in 1989, it is now present in Italy with its main headquarters in Varese, where over 1000 employees work, and with with its own sites both in Italy and in foreign markets.
The sustainability goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 involves reducing direct emissions through decreased consumption, both at the company’s facilities and of its vehicles.
The client wanted to test a new energy efficiency solution in one of the Group’s sites which would ensure also a power quality improvement and be complementary to the interventions already implemented.
The Project
In August 2023, a 1400A EP-X was installed at the Bticino plant in Spineta Marengo, in the province of Alessandria, where busbar are produced.
The line on which the machine has been installed consumes about 3.000.000 kWh/year with an absorption of about 700kW of power and is mainly composed of machinery controlled by inverters.
Given the results achieved on this line, the application of the EP-X system is being evaluated for implementation on other lines and sites within the Group.
