Italgas – Italy
Italgas is a leader in Italy in the energy sector as a gas distributor, with a widespread and highly efficient network. It was founded in 1837 in Torino as Gas Lighting Company,, establishing the first Italian company specialized in the distillation of solid fuels for the production of illuminating gas. Later it was renamed as Italian Gas Society, continuing the expansion of the distribution network. In 1950, with the entry in Eni, the company became a key player in the country’s natural gas distribution. Today, after 180 years of development, Italgas continues the extension and digitalization of its networks to accommodate and distribute gases such as biomethane and green hydrogen, crucial for the transition towards a decarbonized economy.
The project
The need for energy requalification of some buildings has led to the installation of 5 EP-X devices. One 1000A EP-X in Mestre (VE), one
1000A EP-X in Monte Mario (Roma), two EP-X in Torino respectively of 1400A and 1600A, and finally one 250A EP-X in Caserta. Thanks to the implementation of these devices, Italgas has achieved its energy efficiency objectives, improving the quality of power supply and reducing energy consumption, resulting in a decrease in CO2 emissions.
