Grand Hotel Union – Slovenia

Grand Hotel Union is a historic 4-star accommodation in the heart of Ljubljana. Built in 1905 by architect Josip Vancaš in the Art Nouveau style, the construction of the Grand Hotel Union was a great event for the time and over the years has hosted political, film, musical and royal celebrities, including the British Queen.
Even today Grand Hotel Union maintains its splendid Slovenian style and character, but at the same time offers the modernity of the largest conference center in Ljubljana, which can accommodate up to 800 guests with a wide range of services and event spaces.

The project

In January 2020, was installed a 1,250A EP device downstream of the general switch that powers all of the hotel’s machinery and services. The configuration of the electrical loads powered by this line consists mainly of machinery with and without inverter, air conditioning and lighting, for a used power of about 760 kW and an energy consumption of about 3,500,000 kWh:

  • – Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning: 41%
  • – Inverter Machinery: 35%
  • – Non-Inverter Machinery: 13%
  • – Traditional lighting: 8%
  • – LED lighting: 3%.
