Carbon credits
A carbon credit is a certificate that certifies the saving of 1 ton of CO2 achieved through avoided emissions resulting from energy savings or environmental absorption, realized for example through an environmental protection project. Carbon credits are tradable, meaning they can be transferred and sold on the voluntary carbon market. For each ton of CO2 saved and verified, one VER certificate (Voluntary Emission Reductions) is issued.
Energia Europa has been certified for the release of carbon credits on the free market
Energia Europa has obtained validation from the certification body Rina for the issuance of VER titles based on the measurability of energy efficiency results achievable by EPX devices through a measurement protocol certified by IMQ. The crediting period validated by Rina for Energia Europa’s VER project is 10 years, renewable for another 7 years, and is retroactive starting from 2021.
Thanks to available data and forecasts for the coming years, we can estimate the CO2 reduction for the 2021-2031 period at over 400,000 tons.
